Microsoft PowerPoint/Excel/Word - Summer

Grades: 8 - 12

Meets:  August 10 - 14;  9:00 - 11:00

Class Description: Learn the most powerful tools in Microsoft Office 2007.  Your student will learn these 3 packages while creating documents launching a (pretend) brand new Sunglass Company that will take Wall Street by Storm.  Who said learning computer skills had to be boring?  Not in this class.   Yes, this class will teach the basics of all 3 Microsoft Office packages as its’ main focus, but will wrap all assignments around our Sunglass Company.  Hands on couldn’t be more fun!   (Note:  Colleges will expect students to have a good grasp of Microsoft Office)

Objective:  To learn the fundamentals of Word, PowerPoint and Excel and give students the basics for communication in all their future classes.   

Minimum/Maximum number of students: 5/16

Homework: Most work will be finished in class, but could be 15-20 minutes at night if class assignments are not finished. 

Cost:  $100 and $5 for supplies

Supplies that the students should bring to class:  Students need their own laptop computer brought to class with Microsoft Office 2007 loaded on, pen/pencil, spiral notebook with dividers and paper
